Unsere Reise durch Sonne, Strand und Tapas 7. Woche

Montag bis Donnerstag 03. bis 06.03.25

Wir hören immer mehr Nachrichten aus verschiedenen Kanälen über Unwetter von Spaniens Mittelmeerküste. Wir sehen Bilder von überfluteten Campingplätzen und sind froh, dass wir uns derzeit nicht in diesem Gebiet aufhalten. Desweiteren werden wir von Bekannten, die unsere Reise verfolgen, vor diesem Unwettern gewarnt. Es werden Erinnerungen an das schwere Unwetter, welches Valencia verwüstet hat, wach. Wir befinden uns westlich von Gibraltar am Atlantik in einem Bereich der uns Gott sei Dank wenig tangiert. Auf dem Wetterradar sehen wir auch, daß die Regenfälle rechts (Gibraltar) und links (Portugal) an uns vorbeiziehen. Wir sind deswegen hier auf unserem Platz geblieben und warten ab, bis das Wetter sich beruhigt hat. 

We hear more and more news from various channels about storms on Spain's Mediterranean coast. We see pictures of flooded campsites and are glad that we are not currently staying in this area. We are also warned about these storms by friends who are following our journey. It brings back memories of the severe storm that devastated Valencia. We are west of Gibraltar on the Atlantic in an area that, thank God, has little effect on us. We can also see on the weather radar that the rain is passing us on the right (Gibraltar) and left (Portugal). We have therefore stayed here on our pitch and are waiting until the weather has calmed down.

Auf diesem Platz gibt es sehr viele Personen, die hier überwintern und mit Anhänger und Pkw angereist sind. Die Kosten für den Platz sind niedrig und viele verbringen hier mehr als einen Monat.

There are a lot of people who spend the winter here and have travelled here by trailer and car. The cost of the pitch is low and many spend more than a month here.

Wir freuen uns, dass wir einen Platz gefunden haben, auf dem es relativ sicher ist, was die Wetterlage betrifft. Mich erstaunt das rechts und links von uns Regen durchzieht, wir aber fast immer dazwischen sind und auch viel Sonne abbekommen.

We are pleased that we have found a place where it is relatively safe as far as the weather is concerned. I'm amazed that it's raining to our right and left, but we're almost always in between and get plenty of sunshine.

Freitag 07.03.25

Es ist an der Zeit die nächste Etappe in Angriff zu nehmen. In der App park4night fällt mir ein Platz auf. Ein Bauernhof, der ökologisch produziert und wo gemeinsames Leben ganz groß geschrieben wird. Das macht neugierig und wir beschließen uns den Platz anzuschauen. Nach ca 200km kommen wir an. Bis nach Portugal sind es nun keine 100km mehr. 

Samstag 08.03.25 

Wir sind heute am Christoph Kolumbus Museum in Huelva angekommen und freuen uns schon und dieses anzuschauen. Leider dürfen wir nicht auf die Boote, da es die ganzen letzten Tage geregnet hat und das Holz aufgeweicht und damit glatt ist. Wir bekommen am Eingang dafür aber Ermäßigung auf den Eintrittspreis. Ich hätte gern mehr bezahlt, um auch die Boote von innen zu sehen. Zuerst sehen wir im Museum einen Film über Christoph Kolumbus mit deutschen Untertiteln und dann gehen wir raus auf das Freigelände.

We arrived at the Christopher Columbus Museum in Huelva today and are looking forward to seeing it. Unfortunately, we are not allowed on the boats as it has been raining for the last few days and the wood is soaked and therefore slippery. However, we get a discount on the entrance fee at the entrance. I would have liked to have paid more to see the boats from the inside. First we watch a film about Christopher Columbus in the museum with German subtitles and then we go out to the outdoor area.

Nach dem Besuch des Museums sind wir auf dem benachbarten Berg gestiegen um noch etwas die Gegend zu erkunden. Dabei haben das Kloster Monasterio de La Rabida entdeckt. Es ist ein Franziskanerkloster aus dem 13. Jahrhundert mit einer Marienstatue, an der Christoph Kolumbus einst betete. Also ab ins Kloster.

After visiting the museum, we climbed the neighbouring mountain to explore the area a little more. We discovered the Monasterio de La Rabida monastery. It is a Franciscan monastery from the 13th century with a statue of the Virgin Mary at which Christopher Columbus once prayed. So off we went to the monastery.

Sonntag 09.03.25

Die siebente Woche unserer Reise über die Oberfläche Halbinsel geht zu Ende und wir haben heute die Algarve in Portugal erreicht. Leider lässt das Wetter immer noch zu wünschen übrig. Auf unserer Weiterfahrt sehen wir das große Flächen neben den Straßen überschwemmt sind. Es hat nicht nur am Mittelmeer sondern auch hier am Atlantik massiv geregnet.The seventh week of our journey across the surface peninsula is coming to an end and we reached the Algarve in Portugal today. Unfortunately, the weather still leaves a lot to be desired. As we continue our journey, we see that large areas next to the roads are flooded. It has not only rained heavily on the Mediterranean but also here on the Atlantic.
